First to be unmasked, is Khanyi’s roast master who has been revealed as comedian, presenter, TV personality and all-round entertainer Mpho Modikoane, aka Mpho Popps. He is tasked with keeping things explosive on the show.

Mpho Popps said: “This is just one of those career milestones I could not have imagined happening in my life.

“As the roast master I say, may the thickest skin win!”

Dillon Khan, vice-president of Comedy Central Africa said Mpho did the opening set for the Roast of Somizi and had an amazing performance.

“So, being the roast master is a natural fit – a bit like chemistry between him and Khanyi that is guaranteed to be electrifying,” Khan said.
