THE iconic Yebo Gogo Man from the Vodacom advert has died.
The man, whose name was Kole Omotoso (80), died on Wednesday, 19 July, after a long sickness.
His family released a statement confirming his death.
“Our beloved father and husband moved on from this plane on Wednesday 19th late afternoon.
“We will share more information with the public as we gather ourselves,” the statement read.

Kole was also the father of legendary actor and film director Akin Omotoso, who starred on Generations, Isidingo and the e.tv sitcom, Big Okes.
He was also an author and professor and had just turned 80 in April. His son, Akin, wrote him a tribute on his 80th birthday.
As a child, I remember waking up to the hypnotic sound of your typewriter echoing through the house in Ife.
“I remember when you were writing your masterpiece, Just Before Dawn, the floor in your study was covered in books. My brother, sister and I would swim in them. I remember whenever we would ask you a question, you would give us a book, saying the answer was in there.
“I remember this and much more on this occasion of your 80th birthday, and I am thankful that we choose you to love, guide, inspire, support us in this journey called life,” the tribute read.
His family moved from Nigeria to South Africa in 1992.
