GENERATIONS: The Legacy has taken a huge step and hired one of Mzansi’s favourite actors, Kgomotso Christopher.

The popular actress is a crowd-puller, which will benefit the SABC show. Last year, it ranked number three on the most watched shows in South Africa with 4 782 188 viewers and Kgomotso will definitely bring a bigger audience.

The news of her joining the show has already excited viewers on social media. They have been posting saying they can’t wait to see her.

When Kgomotso (44) got her first leading part on SABC3’s Isidingo, she became an instant fan favourite and built her fanbase there.

She then joined e.tv’s Scandal! as Yvonne "YV" Langa, the villain viewers hated to love. She joined M-Net’s Legacy as the lead Dineo Price where her fanbase grew even bigger.

She’s everyone’s favourite villain, however, she will be playing a different role on Generations: The Legacy

Her character, Keabetswe Moloi will play the role of the twin sister to the scheming Khumo Moroka (played by Aubrey Poo).

According to the channel, Khumo is the villain, Kea on the other hand is the polar opposite.

“In contrast to Khumo, however, Kea is open, honest and passionate about using her position as a Moroka to help people and do good in the world. Their relationship is ultimately one of supreme loyalty and fierce protection of each other. She has a savvy mind for business and a generous heart,” the statement read.

Speaking about joining the show, Kgomotso said this is for the viewers who’ve been supporting her.

“Joining Generations: The Legacy is a full circle moment. I’m looking forward to getting to discover and step into the shoes of Keabetswe ‘Kea’ Moloi. To the viewers that have always supported my work… this is for them,” she said.

Casting director Russel Savadier said: “Kgomotso is one of the genuine leading ladies on television today. She’s always luminous and totally compelling to watch. We’ve wanted her to join the show for quite some time. I’m delighted that she’s agreed to join the Generations Family”.

Kgomotso makes her debut on 14 March.
