Tumelo Maketekete will be hosting the Mokorotlo Cultural Ride to Lesotho.

ALL roads lead to the Mokorotlo Cultural Ride to Lesotho, presented by Tumelo Maketekete Outdoor and Lifestyle Farms.

The cultural ride will take place from 28 to 30 October, and the idea behind it is to expose bikers to an authentic and cultural experience. “Mokorotlo” is a Basotho traditional grass woven cone-shaped hat.

Founder Tumelo told Daily Sun that he had been a rider since 1993, and decided on the annual ride because many rallies were similar in that you went to camp and then back home.

“The idea behind the cultural ride is to let people know about our Basotho culture,” he said.

Guests will get to visit Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village, go on a guided tour to the chief and traditional beer with the locals.

“Our family originates from Lesotho and by knowing the lay of the land, being able to speak the language and still have family back home, we believe this will be an experience worth taking part in,” he added.

The trip costs R5 670, inclusive of food, accommodation, border fees, buff, T-shirt and hat.
