TRIBUTES pour in for the late filmmaker and director, Teboho Mahlatsi all over social media.
Tebogo (52) died on Monday, 3 July and his colleagues and the government have paid tribute to him. He was known as a director, producer and creator of films such as Yizo-Yizo, Zone 14, Isibaya, Jacob's Cross, Shaka Ilembe, and Back Of The Moon.Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa issued a statement and sent condolences to his family and colleagues at The Bomb Shelter.
"I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Mahlatsi family, as well as Desiree Markgraaff and Angus Gibson, with whom Mr Mahlatsi produced some of South Africa's finest television and film productions at Bomb Productions. South Africa has lost a titan of television and film," he said.
Desiree Markgraaff, one of his fellow directors of The Bomb Shelter, said: "Right now there are no words. I am just shocked and overwhelmed with a deep sadness."

Radio host and TV producer Khanyi Magubane, said she met Teboho in 1996 and he left a lasting impression.
"I'm at a loss for words. My friend is gone. An outstanding producer, writer and director! Teboho Mahlatsi, we were only 16 and 21 when we met at the Carlton Centre in 1996. What a journey you've been on, what an impact you've left behind. I send my heart to the Mahlatsi family," she wrote on Twitter.
Mzansi Magic said Teboho was talented."Mzansi Magic extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of visionary creative Teboho Mahlatsi, who contributed immensely to the South African film and television industry. He was a remarkable talent and will be greatly missed," it said.
Teboho's family confirmed the news of his death in a statement Monday, 3 July.
"It is with the saddest regret that we announce the untimely passing of filmmaker and producer Teboho Moseling Mahlatsi on the 3rd of July 2023," the statement said.
His cause of death has not yet been announced.
