GAGASI FM has lost another top presenter in a short space of time.

Khaya Dladla, who is also a House of Zwide actor, dumped the commercial radio station based in Durban due to an alleged non-conducive environment after he worked for the station for six years.

On Monday, 25 March, another Gagasi FM presenter, Penny Ntuli, shocked many after she announced that she was leaving the station as it was going to pay her a R2 800 monthly salary.

Khaya (33) from Umlazi south of Durban, who was known as "The Favourite Queer of the Airwaves" on Gagasi FM, told listeners that he was in pain to leave the station.

“It pains me that I find myself in a position where I have had to leave a brand I fell in love with years ago due to the non-conducive environment.

“The trajectory of my brand is no longer aligned with that of the station,” he said.

Khaya, who plays Lazarus on e.tv prime-time weekday soapie, House of Zwide, said it was a pleasure working with Gagasi FM presenters.

“DJ Vumar, thank you for welcoming me with open arms, Mfundo Mabaso, Felix Hlophe, Njabs Zwane, DJ Flair for an amazing breakfast show.

“A big thanks to The Gagasi FM Drive Team from Kwazi Khoza, Mfundo Zwane, Frank Ndimande, Zisto, and Heazy, all the great on-air personalities who brought so much flavour and colour to this brand, the amazing AEs and Implementation Specialists, and all the brands I have endorsed throughout my Gagasi FM journey,” he said.

Khaya will do his last show on the Gagasi FM afternoon drive show on Friday, 29 March.

He joined Gagasi FM in 2028 when he was presenting traffic updates on the breakfast shows and later moved to the afternoon drive show.

Inside sources alleged that Khaya left the station because it was not allowing him more time for his acting career.

“The station wanted him to spend more time in the station because sometimes he goes to Joburg to shoot for House of Zwide,” a source said.

Gagasi is under fire, and it has been forced to lock the comment section of their Facebook page as angry listeners are attacking them on Facebook after they heard that Penny was allegedly going to earn R2 800 salary per month.

Gagasi FM spokesman Khulekani Shandu’s phone rang unanswered.
