IDOLS SA season 18 continued on Sunday.

Mpilwenhle sang Khusela by Msaki and Kabza De Small.

Somizi said she is artistically intelligent.

“Whether you win or not, make sure you contribute to your songwriting,” he said.

Ty Loner followed with Selema by Musa Keys.

Thembi said he must take care of the verses as much as he takes care of the chorus.

JR said his performance was surprising and good: “You should have the ability to carry the song. From a performance perspective you did well.”

Somizi said he saw what South Africa saw in him. “You are not perfect, but you are a pop star. You have something that money can’t buy. Today’s performance for me was everything,” he said.

Thapelo was next and he performed Seasons by Lloyiso.

Nozi performed Mvzzle’s song called Thando.

In the next round, the contestants performed songs by the wooden mic contestants and showed Mzansi how it should’ve been done.

Mpilwenhle sang Labrinth’s Jealous and Thembi said she has a bright future.

“I am imagining your voice in a Disney movie. I believe that you are going far. Well done, baby,” she said.

Ty Loner performed You and I by John Legend and JR said he knows himself very well.

“Did I really think the performance was wow? Not necessarily,” he said.

Thapelo sang Vusi Nova’s Ndikuthandile and Somizi said he had heard the song a million times and he was scared he might have tried to impersonate Vusi.

“One thing you must never do is apologise for being you. I am looking for colour, give me that next week,” he said.
