INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed fashion designer Quiteria Kekana has lost his battle with cancer.

The designer, who dressed Beyoncé for the Global Citizen Concert in 2018, died at his home in Melville.

Last year, he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and had started his second phase of chemotherapy.

His death was confirmed by his family through a statement, also asking for privacy.

“It is with profound regret and sadness that the Kekana family confirm the untimely passing of international fashion designer, son, father and brother Lebogang Quiteria Kekana (38) after a short battle with cancer,” read the statement.

The family revealed that the talented designer died on Sunday, 17 April, adding: “Quiteria leaves behind his son, beloved parents, siblings, family and puppy. The family humbly requests privacy as they process the news. We ask that you please keep us in your prayers,” the statement read in part.

The family also said they were grateful for messages of love and support, and that details of the memorial service will be confirmed in due course.

Quiteria was known for dressing up local celebrities such as Natasha Thahane, Lerato Kganyago, Thando Thabethe, and Khanyi Mbau.

In his recent interviews, he revealed that he was confident he’d get better and resume his designing work.
