REALITY TV personality Thimna Shooto has rubbished rumours that she is back with her ex-boyfriend, Libho Geza.

The couple won the first season of Love Island South Africa last year, and broke up in February. They released a joint statement, saying they were no longer together.

Social media users have been suspecting that they are back together and in a secret relationship. And, the rumours became worse when Libho appeared on an episode of a YouTube show called Defining Breakups on Tuesday, 22 November, stating that he had just seen Thimna in the morning. The former couple started trending, with people convinced that they were back together.

But Thimna said the rumours were not true because they were never getting back together.

“Every day I see tweets and comments that I’m lying and in a secret relationship. Of course, I’m going to address it,” she wrote.

She shared that they were together that morning because she was also going to film an episode of Defining Breakups, and Libho offered her a lift. She said they were just friends, hence they regularly went out together.

“He saw me that morning because he offered to take me to the shoot. I’ve neither been in a secret relationship nor have I ever lied about the break-up. We’re not compatible as lovers. Therapy helped me with seeing my shortcomings and those of others, which is why we remain friends. That’s why some people have seen us out – because we remain friends and support each other the best way we can,” she added.

Thimna then made it clear that they won’t get back together.

“And no, we will never get back together. Like he said, he’s built for the streets and I’m built for commitment.”
