DESPITE breaking records, season two of Showmax’s popular series, The Wife, has left a lot of fans displeased.
According to the hardcore lovers of the show, the new storyline that follows the life of Zandile, who broke out of jail at the end of season one and played by media personality Khanyi Mbau, is boring.
Zandile is trying to put her life together and resumes her motherly duties after spending 10 years in prison.
Reacting to the show’s new season, which is based on Dudu Busani-Dube’s popular book series, people have gone as far as to say the series is “wack”.
“Season two is definitely not giving shame, the storyline is wack. I am only watching because I want to see how things unfold between Hlomu and Mqhele. I even fast-forward some parts,” Qangule wrote.

Others complained that they weren’t seeing the show’s main characters as much as they used to.
“Hlomu getting two minutes of screen time is upsetting,” Busi Dlamini said.
Mandisa Malevu said the show isn’t worth watching.
“If you haven’t watched today’s episode of The Wife don’t bother, the trailer didn’t lie, there is nothing to watch. Wasted morning, wasted data, wasted logic trying to figure out all the obvious blunders in the storyline. I think it’s time to give up on this,” she said.
Zandile said: “Can Zandile go back to
prison so that MaHlomu will be starring again, because wow ayikho indaba ka Zandile kule season.”
Zamathole said she can’t believe we still have two more months before Zandile’s story ends.
