EXTRADITION for the Ndimande brothers linked to the murders of AKA and Tibz has been approved by Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola.
Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande have been detained at Eswatini since February 2024.
They face charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The brothers will appear in the Manzini Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 20 March, where they will know about the extradition application.
These brothers are believed to have played different roles in the murder of the acclaimed rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and celebrity chef friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane outside the Wish restaurant on Florida Road in Durban, KZN in February 2023.
Meanwhile, the ministry of justice and correctional services released a statement which confirms that Minister Lamola approved and transmitted a request by South Africa for the extradition of Siyabonga Ndimande and Malusi Ndimande from the Kingdom of Eswatini to Mzansi.

The statement further states that the request is made in terms Extradition Treaty between South Africa and Eswatini dated October 1968 and in terms of the SADC protocol on extradition dated 3 October 2002, to which both countries are signatories.
"The ministry stands ready to give highest level of cooperation to its counterparts in the kingdom of Eswatini," the statement stated.
A legal expert based in Durban, Abigail Ngobeni, said this is the point where the defence and council in Eswatini will take instructions from their client and come to court on whether they want to oppose or not.
"But there are things that the court will be looking at. One will be that the accused will be safe, afforded a fair trial, and that there will be no violation of rights," he said.
