THE Crown Gospel Music Awards started their Gauteng first awarding ceremony on a high note with community music workshops and talent searches.

Gauteng will host the awards for the first time after they were in KZN since they started 15 years ago.

The awards will be held at FNB Stadium in Nasrec on 26 November.

They started their build-up projects on Tuesday, 26 September, with community workshops and a gospel music talent search in five areas, which are Kagiso Memorial, Sebokeng, Daveyton, Diepsloot and North (Saulsville Arena).

Awards founder Zanele Mbokazi said those identified during the talent search will perform at the Crown Gospel Music Awards stage on 26 November.

“The Crowns build-up programmes will include music workshops to empower aspiring gospel artists in five different communities around Gauteng.

“We are bringing collective agencies, personal branding specialists, entertainment lawyers and music coaches,” she said.
