SPINNING motor fanatics should gear up and be ready for the return of Red Bull Shay’iMoto.

Following a short hiatus in 2023, Shay’iMoto returns and is set to excite motorsport fans on 16 March 2024. 

The thrilling spinning competition will, for the first time, be hosted in the beautiful city of Cape Town at Canal Walk, Century City Boulevard as SA’s top spinners go Gusheshe-to-Gusheshe in pursuit of the 2024 title.

Sunesh Pursad, one of the drivers who has entered the competition more than once, told Daily Sun he will be returning.

“When I started this competition, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Therefore, I continually re-entered because it's challenging and exceptional,” Sunesh said.

He said competing in the event is life-changing.

“It’s the lights, the stage...It's everything. There hasn’t ever been a spinning event like this ever. It's just overwhelming."

He said he is preparing thoroughly for the event.

“As we speak, I'm busy running around for the car parts. I'm respraying and preparing the car,” he said.

Sunesha said you need to prepare mentally as well for the competition.

“I'll be there to have fun and do what I do best,” he said.

He added that the atmosphere and the entire event is good for them.

“The fact that I managed to get a place on the event is amazing. Such a big company has put this event together and gave us an opportunity to showcase our talent.”
