LATE musician Bulelwa "Zahara" Mkutukana has been remembered.
Zahara played an important role in the lives of many people throughout the country and influenced them.
The Joburg-based singer died on Monday, 11 December.
Local stars and close friends offered their heartfelt condolences.
Legendary kwaito star Eugene Mthethwa told Daily Sun that he will always remember her with the success of her first album, which did what no other album has ever done.
Gospel singer Khulekani Chilli said he will always remember Zahara as one of the best musicians to ever come out of the country.
"She was a beautiful soul, dedicated, respecting and a hard worker. I want to say mabaduduzeke, it's painful but God knows, and I know Zahara's parents are God-fearing people," Khulekani said.

He said the last time he spoke to her was when they were at Themba Lukhele's foundation in Ekurhuleni, a few months ago.
Poet and singer Ntsiki Mazwai told Daily Sun that she'll always remember Zahara for doing so much good and contributing to the entertainment industry.
"The rise of Loliwe has been magical to watch and we will always remember Zahara's magic. We will also remember how brave she was when she denounced corruption in the music industry," Ntsiki said.
TV personality Yaya Mavundla, who was also a close friend of the late singer, wished her a peaceful rest.
"Her amazing talent, her love for singing, even in uncomfortable places, Zahara sings and changes the mood. There was a time when we were on our way from the Satmas and we arrived at the workshop and she was singing for the employees. She probably made their year, both the customers and the others," Yaya said.
Ann Malinga said that remembering her is too much of a pain right now and that she wants to honour her own healing process.
"In time, I'll probably be able to remember her with less pain but good memories of her as one of the greatest artists South Africa ever had," she said.
Ann said Zahara lived a happy life on the outside, but inside she was troubled. She said she will remember her by the work they did together with her late husband Robbie Malinga
The musician has worked with the late star Robbie, DJ Sbu and many others. She has also won several awards and has contributed a lot to the music industry in recent years after breaking through with her hit single Loliwe in 2012.
