BAND member Scelo Ndlela was laid to rest.
The 65-year-old, who was a member of the Soul Brothers, was buried on Saturday, 13 January at Westpark Cemetery in Joburg.
His family and friends came in large numbers to support the musician's loved ones and say goodbye to him.
A family member, Sibongile Ndlela, told Daily Sun that as Ndlela family, they were deeply saddened by his death, but also happy that he had played a role in their lives and wished him to rest in peace.
"We are sad as a family because he is no longer here, but grateful that he was part of our lives. We will always remember you, bhuti wami," she said.
Sandile Ndlela said it was time for his father to rest. He said he had seen him sick and justwanted him to rest in peace.
"It's not easy being raisedby a celebrity. I am just sad that he's passed away, but we all needed his attention as his kids, but his fans needed him too," he said.
Legendary maskandi singer Bheki "Ihhashi Elimhlophe" Ngcobo said he had known him for a long time. He said they would always collaborate with other groups in the entertainment industry.

"When I met my brother Scelo, I was still young, and I learnt a lot from him. We worked well together as brothers, and he was very respectful.
"I can say a lot about him because he was very special to us in the music industry. I will never forget all the ups and downs we went through as friends and colleagues," he said.
Ihhashi Elimhlophe said he was grateful to have met him.
Israel Motsumi's neighbour said he had never met anyone who was so gentle and full of manners. He said the late musician was an exceptional person who never knewquarrels.
"I was lucky to have Scelo as a neighbour. He always kept me in the loop, even when he travelled away for his gigs," he said.
