MEDIA personality Skolopad, who recently opened up about her struggle with alopecia, recently got the help she needed.

Fan Tshediso Tshabalala from The Rock hair salon recently had Skolopad in for a hair appointment and brought a smile to her face after hearing about her story.

“I’m not bragging but I’m proud of myself for allowing my situation not to drag me down. But I’m one person who is open, outspoken and seeks for help. My problem doesn’t define me but shapes me to be a better person,” said Skolopad.

“Thank you so much The Rock Salon for making me look this beautiful and bringing my self-confidence back. I have no words to describe how I feel right now. Guys, going to a salon is therapeutic.”

Speaking to Daily Sun previously, Skolopad said she developed alopecia after she underwent treatment for acne.

She said she was made fun of by someone whom she opened up to about her condition.

“One of the people I had opened up to about my condition told the guy that if they were to take off my wig, they’d be shocked and run away,” she said.

She said in that moment, she realised people should stop hiding things they go through.

“If we do, we give people the power to shame us. We must know our worth,” said Skolopad.
