Rising singer Samantha Mundo wants to bring the youth closer to God.
The 16-year-old released her single I Win on Friday, 15 April.
Samantha from Centurion in Tshwane spoke to SunBuzz about using her music as an instrument for good.
“Youngsters like the beats of my music and I saw I can use that to teach them about God. So, when the youth likes the beat, they listen to the music.
“When they listen, there comes understanding which brings knowledge and then faith.”
Samantha also shared about the message behind her single.
“I Win is a contemporary gospel song that’s distinctly African but with an international flair.

“The message behind the song is based off Philippians 4:13 and Psalms 23:4.
“They state, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and even though I walk in the shadow of death, I will not fear, respectively. It talks about the Lord’s protection and it’s also motivation for people going through different things.
“Whatever it is, they will win. It’s sung in Shona and English.
“It’s written and produced by gospel musician Takesure Zamar Ncube.”
It is the first single from her upcoming EP featuring award-winning DJ Tira. “Although it’s a gospel album, there’s amapiano, house and more. It’s great and feels young. Maybe it will drop in the next three months.”
Samantha aims to study law and to be a great artist. “I want to travel and spread the message about God,” she said.
