UNKNOWN hitman allegedly want to kill Thinah Zungu.

The KZN-based gospel artist told Daily Sun that a hitman called him on Tuesday, 4 July to tell him that he has been ordered to kill him.

“This person asked if I fought with anyone and I said no. He then told me that someone hired him to kill me. He said he has been paid a large amount of money to kill me.

"I remained calm as he was explaining. I wasn’t bothered at all and didn’t want to entertain him. So, I told him to give me time to sort out my insurance cover and I dropped the call,” said Thinah.

He told Daily Sun he did not report the matter to the police.

“I did not report the incident to the police because I believe this is a scam. I think this is a fake hitman and he thought I’d panic and give him quick money. I say this because I know of scenarios where a scammer called and pretended to be a hitman. He’d then demand a counteroffer from their victim. I think they were trying to use the same trick on me, but they failed,” he said.

Thinah later informed his followers on Facebook. He wrote: “I received a call from a hitman. He said he’s been paid to kill me. I am informing you so you can start preparing to cry for me. The supposed killer asked if I offended someone and I said I didn’t offend anyone.”

He then joked about it and said: “I cannot believe I’m about to leave my double-story. In fact, let me fix my swimming pool so you can be able to swim when I’m gone. Actually I’m not scared of death.”

KZN police spokeswoman Thenjiswa Ngcobo said: “As KZN police, we cannot comment on this. We can't even warn people about it unless a case is opened.”
