Iconic comedian Marc Lottering is going to be honoured with the Hall Of Fame Award.
The awards will be held on Saturday, 13 April, at the Lyric Theatre in Joburg.
The awards producer, Manuela Dias de Deus, said they want to appreciate comedians.
"The aim is to celebrate the best stand-up comedians in the country and profile the industry. Through this, we want to create events for the public to attend so that young and upcoming artists shine and acquire global work," she said.
Comedian Mpho Popps, who will be hosting the main event, said comedians have to come together.
"It is our responsibility to build comedy. Music has a building, acting too. We have to pull together. We need to come together and rebuild our industry. Covid-19 hit us hard, and we had to push; we needed ourselves.
"We need to create properties for comedians to thrive. To all the comedians, let's write shows and create content," he said.
