K.O will be opening a new store and launching an ice cream brand.

AWARD-WINNING rapper K.O is set to sweeten the scene.

The Sete hitmaker will launch his ice cream brand on 1 December.

The launch will go hand-in-hand with the launch of his first multi-purpose store for his clothing brand, Skhanda World.

K.O, whose real name is Ntokozo Mdluli(43) spoke to Daily Sun about his new ventures.

“We have ventured into the ice cream space. We will have our own ice cream and it will be available in store. It’s ice cream that will be custom made and it’s local. We’re pretty excited to introduce that.

“With regards to opening the retail store, it felt like it was a natural progression based on the fact that there was always an aspiration to get into the clothing business. I just wanted to learn about the space and how it works because obviously, I’m from music. So, as part of my entrepreneurial journey, it’s a box I wanted to tick because I’m passionate about it,” he said.

He said the store will look different from other stores.

“After years of working on the brand, I thought the next step was to open a flagship store, but even in doing that, we wanted to be different, not like any clothing store. We wanted to make it enticing and exciting, so I think the way we’ve planned it out, people will be surprised to see how the whole store is put together.

“The store will have a sneaker laundry, we’ll also have a juice bar where people can get juice, coffees and mocktails. That’s why we are calling it a multi-purpose store because there will be a lot of things happening in there. We will also be catering for two markets. We’ll still have the mass product we have out right now with some exclusive pieces. But we also want to cater for VIPS,” he said.

K.O will also be hosting his One Man Show at the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town on 29 December.

“Many people should buy the tickets and come see the show. Tickets are already available,” the rapper said.

He said he had bigger plans for 2023.

“I want to continue growing. Naturally, I’ll have more music coming out. I’ll be releasing an album before July. We’ll be more experimental with the sound. With the business front, I’d like to open a new store in Cape Town, possibly,” he said.
