SIZWE Ntombela uses his poems to narrate the hard life of rural people who moved to urban areas for greener pastures.
The 27-year-old poet from Vryheid, KZN, uses poems to tackle challenges people face.
In 2022, he started his poetry series called Umthunzi Wesibibithwane.
He said the purpose of the series is to let people know that they share the same problems in this world.
“This world is full of many challenges. Every day, we get hurt, and unfortunately, there is no other place we can go except living on this planet that keeps hurting us.
“I decided to use my poetic skill differently by releasing my series of poems in different parts so that people can wait for the next one,” he said.

Sizwe said the poetic work touches many different parts of life that make people get hurt.
“It is sad that every day people get hurt, and there is no place to hide ourselves. As long as we live in the world, we will get hurt.
“People are hurt even in their love relationships where they are supposed to get happiness, and many of them get killed in the name of love,” he said.
Sizwe said his poems also show how other people use love potions and accidentally kill others unintentionally.
He said he wants to take his poetic work further and turn it into a TV series to give people hope that they share the same challenges.
“The way I write my poems, they tell the story, and that story can be good for TV. My poetic videos are on my YouTube channel called Umthunzi Wesibibithwane,” he said.
