PIETERMARITZBURG High School Reunion Party will be the mother of all high school reunion parties.

The reunion will be held in Pietermaritzburg, KZN before moving on to other cities.

The event is organised by ZaziMedia, a media agency behind the 100% Zulu Comedy Show, in collaboration with Vuma FM. It will take place at Woodburn Stadium in KZN's capital, Pietermaritzburg on Saturday, 16 September.

The organisers said the main purpose is to bring former high school pupils back together to share, have fun and play.

Vuma FM presenter Vanessa Marawa will be the host of the party, while 16 DJs will entertain the crowds.

Event organiser Zazi Nxele of ZaziMedia told the Daily Sun that the party will be attended by former pupils from 39 high schools in Pietermaritzburg.

"The idea of gathering all schools in one place on one day is inspired by the city’s status as an education capital with prestigious high school and tertiary institutions. Anyone who has studied at any of the Pietermaritzburg high schools is our target audience as we want friends to relive the good old days with music, food, fun and games galore with lots of prizes to be won," he said.

He said more than 1 500 former Pietermaritzburg high school pupils from all over the country are  expected to attend.

"From Alex to Russel, Carter to Pata, Sukuma to Sobantu, Linpark to KwaMncane, Goergie to Qoqisizwe and all other high schools, anyone whose life was shaped here in the city and who wants to bring back their high school memories is welcome.

"With two stages, 16 deejays, live bands, a beer garden, food court and gin bar, everyone attending the event will be spoilt for choice," said Zazi.

He said that there will be kart racing, quad biking, horse riding, a police table, table soccer, table tennis, group games and much more.

“We started in Pietermaritzburg because it is the capital city of KZN and then we will continue with this reunion in other cities,” said Zazi.

Tickets are available at Webtickets and Pick n Pay for R150.
