MTHOKOZISI Masengemi walks tall and feels blessed as a gospel singer.

He said singing gospel is not all about fame but worship.

Mthokozisi from Bergville, in KZN, is a born-again Christian. He was ordained as a pastor at Maranatha Church.

"For me, singing gospel is a calling. It connects me with God. Whenever I stand in the pulpit to preach, I also sing because that's how to worship God," he said.

Mthokozisi said as a child, he never thought he would one day use his voice to change people's lives.

He sang with Lindani Gumede in the song Angeke Ngahluleka, released in December 2023.

"Many people tell me my song gives them hope and revitalises their souls."

His message to young, aspiring musicians: singing gospel is not about becoming famous but bringing lost sheep into the kingdom of God.

Bishop Benjamin Dube, Ntokozo Mbambo, Dumi Mkokstad, Andile kaMajola and Thina Zungu are his mentors.

In 2021, the pastor released his first solo album titled Mabaphile Ngomthandazo.

He has performed on Home Coming, #Sigeza udaka for Big Zulu, The Maranatha Church, Rock of Salvation and Ark of Covenant.
