ACTRESS and performer Nonkosi Frances Ndlazilwana (89) has been laid to rest.
The veteran actress didn't have any underlying or health issues at the time of her death.
The 89-year-old Joburg-based actress died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, 28 February, at her Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, home.
Nonkosi was a star in the South African entertainment industry, renowned for her roles in various television series, commercials, and films.
Her talent was evident in her performances on shows such as Velaphi, After Nine, Skeem Sam, Erfsondes, Scandal, Yizo Yizo, Gazlam, Ashes to Ashes, Emzini wezintsizwa, Isidingo, and Home Affairs.

Speaker after speaker described her as a people's person.
Nonkosi's son Lunga Katise said his mum lived her life to the full.
"My mother had a big heart. She loved every in the community. She used to run a feeding scheme where she fed needy residents. We have lost a giant, a person who shared everything she had with others and even encouraged many children in Daveyton to venture into acting," said Lunga.
Chumani Ntlale said his gogo was a wonderful person.
"She was always wanted to unify the family. "When you come to her with problems, she would first ask you what have you done to resolve the problem. She will be solely misses with her joyful character," he said.
Nonkosi's neighbour, Dolly Nondumo said she has lost a friend and a community builder.
"Nonkosi was an all-rounder, a nurse by profession and actress. She was like a social worker to us and caring for needy people. We will remember her contributions to the community," said Dolly.
Veteran and legendary actress Lillian Dube did not attend the funeral due to her commitments. She sent a video clip which was played at the funeral service."My friend, I will never forget the time we shared together in the industry.
"I will forever to be thankful to have met you and your honestly. I wouldn't like to send my condolences to the family and urged them to follow on the footsteps of Nonkosi," said mam Lillian.
Nonkosi's grandson, Mbulelo Katise, said her death was a blow to the family because they loved her dearly.
"We'll miss her presence and jokes. My grandmother loved watching international wrestling, better known as WWE."
