Speaking to Daily Sun, she said: “To be honest, I’ve got mixed emotions. The SABC opened doors for me 10 years ago.
“Me leaving was an unplanned decision, it came very unexpectedly. However, I believe people need to grow. We can’t be sitting in the same place.”
Lisakhanya said her plan was to leave the channel when she turned 40.
“I wanted to move to something else, maybe producing or being behind the scenes,” she said. However, that plan completely changed when this opportunity presented itself. I’ve worked for the SABC for years and I had to grab this opportunity to be one of the people reading the news on MultiChoice and Newzroom Afrika’s first-of-its-kind offering. Now maybe I’ll be reading the news when I turn 45.”
Lisakhanya said she couldn’t wait to start her new journey.

“I’m very excited. I believe we will deliver news that is unfiltered and uncensored. We’d love to get to areas that are said to be unreachable. There are so many places that are not covered in the news,” she said.
The programme is set to launch on 27 February and will air Monday to Sunday at 7pm.
