MZANSI stars will take over East London on Friday night, 24 March at the premiere of a film, titled Nelson.
It will take place at Legends Creative Hub.
Nelson is a film by Eastern Cape-based filmmaker Babsi Mcinga.
It stars Xavier DaCoute, Vuyo Dabula, Vuyiseka Cawe and Ayanda Makayi.
Babsi spoke to Daily Sun about the anticipated film.
“Nelson is an emotional tale of two lovers who face an incredible challenge. It’s a touching tale of love, lust, forgiveness and a conversation to address the mental issues faced by men. It encourages them to cry and get help instead of committing suicide and opting for gender-based violence and drug abuse,” she said.
Sir Jet Novuka and Sonwabile Ndamase will also be at the event.
Babsi said radio personality Criselda Kananda will MC the premiere.

“The crew, cast, close friends and family will be attending, then gospel singer Yolanda Vuthela will entertain the crowd,” she said.
She said they are trying to get the movie on TV.
“Indigenous Film is our distribution agent, and they are negotiating with streaming platforms and TV channels. We just needed to screen the film for the filmmakers and the sponsors, hence the premiere today,” Babsi said.
On the night, Babsi will launch a book called The Sum of Life.
“It is a reflection of my journey through ancestral worship to light. This book tells the story of my spiritual journey and adds the dots of life.
"The Sum of Life is about the power of prayer and the ultimate source of power,” she added.
