MUSICIANS Speedy and Spikiri have been scammed of cash.

The two received a call inviting them to a Durban gig at Max lifestyle.

According to Speedy, the scammer sent them a proof of payment for the gig. The scammer also told him that he had paid an extra amount.

In his Instagram post he wrote: “Artists, be careful of the scam. Someone will call you claiming they are from Max lifestyle in Durban. They will ask you or your manager how much you charge, they send fake proof of payment with a little extra than what you charge. They will ask you to pay their travel agent so he could book flights while the money they claim to have paid you hasn’t cleared. Myself and Spikiri were victims of the scam a few days ago. And now other artists have been getting hit.”

A number of artists said they were either victims or were almost victims of the same scam.

DJ Dino bravo said: “They tried that with me already and failed miserably. But it’s sad that they are targeting artists. We’ve been struggling since this lockdown was implemented. The industry has barely open and here are some scammers trying to take the bread out of our families Mouths. Not cool.”

Exte c wrote: “bro this one must be caught, it’s very important for us to find this guys.”
