MEDIA personalities, Dr Musa Mthombeni and Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni, are still head over heels in love – a year after their engagement.
The couple celebrated one year since they got engaged on Monday, 27 June. They both took to social media to celebrate their big day.
Liesl, who is a former Miss SA, said saying yes to Musa was the easiest yes she has ever said before.
“On this day, last year. Easiest yes of my life to my most favourite person ever. One day, I’ll tell the full story or better yet, I’ll just leave it to Musa to write a three-page essay and fill you guys in,” she wrote.
Musa said the engagement was a surprise as Liesl thought they were going on a picnic.
“One year ago, I secretly proposed to my now-wife @liesllaurie. She thought I was taking us on a mountain-top picnic, Kanti. Happy one-year engaged, my baby,” he wrote.

The couple surprised Mzansi when they announced their engagement – because they were hiding their relationship at the time. They got married a few weeks later and have since been celebrating monthly anniversaries on their social media platforms.
Their Instagram followers congratulated them for celebrating one year of engagement.
Didi Malao wrote: “Love y’all, your love is beautiful and puts a smile on all our faces.
“Happiest anniversary to this beautiful couple,” commented another user, Lindin.
Then, Gugule thanked them for teaching her how to keep her relationship private.
“The shock we got on this day, hayi shame. Thank you guys, for teaching us to keep it private until it’s permanent,” she wrote.
