MUSICIAN Msaki is taking a break from music and social media.
The Ubomi Abumanga songstress took to social media on Friday and Saturday, 25 and 26 November, to announce that she needs to take some time for herself.
She wrote a thread explaining how she feels and said she’s not a celebrity and people had been treating her like one.

“This space is not for me. I’m not a celebrity, something too unduly pedestalled or pardoned when I’m wrong, or pulled apart when the internet trolls are bored. I’m a devotee. I cannot be turned into a spectacle just because my focus has become boring to some,” she wrote.
“I cannot match their frequency by ever answering or defending their distortions. What breaks my heart is how much power we give these spaces and that is on us. We are sick. Ppl have built careers on negativity and the irony is I feel their pain too coz of this supple heart,” she continued.
The songstress left her fans with words of advice.
“Be kind to the trolls, they are hurting deep,” wrote Msaki.
“Disempower these toxic spaces making us sub-human and so desensitised to each other’s complexities and truths for entertainment. Ningavumi. I implore you. Make them null and void. We need compassion, and care and patience for each other. Things are getting worser,” she wrote.

Msaki said she will get her art online.
“For those asking, I’ll share my gig guide for the dates I’ve committed to for December, Jan, Feb, & March. My @Patreon account goes live on my birthday, the 31st of December. I’ll put a lot of things I make there including my visual art. Keep well. I’m out,” she wrote.
