THIS month, music lovers will get a chance to attend a concert that will celebrate the different languages in Limpopo.
Award-winning musician Motlanalo, whose real name is Beauty Rammalo, will host the Motlanalo Live Concert which celebrates musicians from her home province, Limpopo.
She spoke to SunBuzz about her concert, themed African Contemporary Music, that will be held at Meropa Casino & Entertainment World in Polokwane on 30 April.
“This concert is sponsored by SAMPRA (South African Music Performance Rights Association). By the grace of God, I was approved for financial assistance. My dream as a musician has always been to have a concert with a line-up with all Limpopo artists. So I did exactly that,” she said.

“I like the fact that the event also has legends such as Dr Winnie Mashaba, Candy Tsa Mandebele, Pleasure Tsa Manyalo. We’ll be celebrating the different languages in Limpopo, hence the versatility in the line-up. The concept is for us to explore and experience music from Limpopo to show people who we are and to preserve our Limpopo cultures,” she said.
She said people can expect a great performance from her.
“I’ll be performing all my songs from my two albums. I’ll treat the audience like royalty.
“It’s great to be back on stage, especially because I hadn’t performed much with Covid-19 hitting shortly after I launched myself as a musician,” she said.
Motlanalo said although she officially pursued music in 2019, she fell in love with singing at a very young age.
“When I started singing at primary school, I realised I have something special that God gave me,” said Motlanalo.
General tickets for the concert cost R250 and VIP tickets cost R500 on 072 504 7839.
