MOJA Love TV presenter Xolani Maphanga and his bodyguard made a brief appearance in the Soshanguve Magistrates Court, Tshwane on Tuesday, 16 April.
The Sizok'thola host, who is a director and owner of Tshenolo Private Investigation company and Bongani Mkhabela (33), were both were granted a bail of R 5 000 each.
The two are facing three counts of attempted murder and trespassing, a schedule 5 offence.
The case stems from an incident on 14 March, where they allegedly assaulted a woman and her brother at their Soshanguve residence while searching for drugs.
The matter was postponed to Tuesday, 21 May, for further investigations.

Lumka Mahanjana, NPA regional spokeswoman for Gauteng division, said after the victims reported the assault, Xolani and his bodyguard surrendered to police on 9 April.
"The two, together with other crew members of Moja Love that have not been identified, went to the complainant’s house in Soshanguve, looking for drugs that they alleged the complainant was selling. When they could not find the drugs, it is alleged that the two started assaulting a woman who is a complainant in the matter with a sjambok and shocked her with taser and further suffocated her brother," she said.
By means of an affidavit, the two denied committing the offences and asked to be released on bail.
The state did not oppose their release on bail. However, the state asked the court to impose conditions that the two should not communicate directly or indirectly with the witnesses and should report to their closest police station once a week.
Xolani's case follows the former show's presenter Xolani Khumalo, who was also fired by the channel in 2023.
The presenter is facing charges of murder in the case involving a suspected drug dealer Robert Varrie, who lost his life last year in July after being interrogated during the filming of the show in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni.
