WHEN he was helped to get booked after many years of dancing in the streets, he was grateful and wanted to make a difference.
Dancer and musician Mixon Tholo, popularly known as Tsekeleke, will be turning 39 in July.
The Barcadi dancer from Mabopane in Tshwane wants to raise funds to thank the artists who helped him.
He told Daily Sun his dream is to host a big event on his birthday and invite artists the likes of DJ Machance, Dr Malinga, Nelly Mawaza and Phindi Maphendula to come and perform.
Tsekeleke said he doesn’t have money for the event but believes there's help out there.
“I have a venue, already. I need a Good Samaritan to come forward and help,” he said.
He said after Daily Sun wrote a story about him in January, some artists visited him.

“They asked me to be featured on their music videos. Some even asked to collaborate with me,” he said.
Tsekeleke said he is grateful for what the artists did for him and his family.
“It was so bad for me because I would get R100 after performing for years in the streets but now I can make enough money to buy groceries for my family.
“As artists, the only way we make money is getting gigs and selling music. I know there are some struggling artists like me who would like to be assisted. To those who can, please help us,” he said.
“This might be a game-changer, something that would fight crime and help unemployed and struggling artists.”
