DJ NAVES said it's hard knowing he will leave Metro FM this month.

The Soweto-born radio host, whose real name is Lebogang “DJ Naves” Naves, who joined Metro FM in 2010, said he's leaving the station with much-needed experience.

DJ Naves told Daily Sun that his journey with Metro FM has been exciting and all about growth.

The presenter said he learnt everything he needed to know about radio from the SABC.

The 38-year-old presenter said his last day at Metro FM is on Saturday, 27 January.

He worked with his industry buddy SPHEctacula as the host of the afternoon drive-time show The Kings Suite on Metro FM.

SPHEctacula will continue to host the show, which means they will be splitting after years of being a dynamic duo and hosting radio shows on Metro FM and Gagasi FM together.

The presenter told Daily Sun he wants to focus on the Kings Of The Weekend music business and the football podcast The Pitchside Podcast.

He said there are many projects that he is working on, and he will announce them when it's the right time to do so.

"Give or take 10 years, my plans going forward is to keep pushing to become a better human being and raise the Kings Of The Weekend (KOTW) flag even higher."

DJ Naves said he is grateful for the opportunity the station gave him.

"I learnt everything about radio at the varsity. I walk away with experience most importantly.

"Once the radio bug has you it’s not easy to let go. It's something that I love doing," he said.

His message to young people is that dreams are nothing without hard work.

"Make your parents and family proud always proud."
