RADIO station, Metro FM, came under fire on social media, with people threatening to boycott the station on Thursday, 21 March.
This was after they announced that they would be interviewing someone who was a victim in the Nova Festival in 2023, where a festival in Israel was ambushed, leaving 364 people dead.
“October 7th 2023 marked a catalytic event that saw what has now been described as a genocide unfold, when Hamas attacked young people attending the Nova Festival in Israel and killed hundreds of people, infringing on people’s right to life and starting an unforgettable and ongoing tragedy. We speak to one of the survivors of that tragic attack,” they wrote.
The interview was set to happen on Best Mornings, and they wrote the post on Instagram to alert listeners.
The post caught fire on all social media platforms.
People have been threatening to boycott the station because of it.

It also reached actress and filmmaker Mmabatho Montsho, who was supposed to have an interview on Best Mornings on Thursday.
She cancelled her interview.
“Thank you for alerting me that the show supports Zionist apartheid. I will not be doing the interview,” Mmabatho said.
Following the backlash, Metro FM released a statement. They confirmed that they cancelled the interview and removed the post on social media.
“The management of Metro FM would like to set the record straight on a matter concerning a social media post that was published yesterday of an interview that was set to take place this morning. Management cancelled the interview and ordered an immediate removal of the social media post based on its controversial content. An investigation has been instituted to address the matter.
“Management regrets this incident; however, it must be noted that the SABC always endeavours to provide fair and balanced content,” the statement read.
