AFTER disappearing for a year in the music scene, maskandi star Uboneni Magubane is making her comeback.
The multi-award winning maskandi star from Nquthu, KZN, has recorded an urban maskandi single song titled Dali Ungowami featuring Amaviyo.
Uboneni told the Daily Sun that she had to disappear from the music scene after she faced challenges at home.
“Since 2019, I've been facing many challenges. In 2019, my children were attacked when I was busy recording my album, and one of them was admitted to hospital for a month," she said.
The musician said her child was attacked again in 2021, and she still attends the case at Vosloorus Regional Hospital in Ekurhuleni.
Uboneni said she is coming back to the music industry and hopes that her fans will still give her a warm welcome.
“It was God's plan. I have felt many pains and disappeared in music. I'll be back in this way.
“While I was sitting asking myself how I’m going to make a comeback in music, Amaviyo asked me to do a song with them and asked me to do an urban maskandi, which is the genre of the late Busi Mhlongo," she said.
Uboneni last released her EP Anginavalo in 2021 but didn’t push it after her child was attacked.

“Now I’m back in the music full time. I'll push this single to remind my fans about me, and I'll perform at the Azibuye Emasisweni cultural festival.
“I've started composing my new songs, and it will be 70% of urban maskandi and 30% of original maskandi, isangoma music and maskandi gospel,” she said.
Uboneni started releasing her music as an independent artist in 2005 when she released her debut album, Isikweletu Asiboli.
She has released her eighth albums and scooped four awards, including Satma and Amantshontsho kaMaskandi awards in 2012. She also scooped the SAVA awards in 2013.
