RAPPER Refiloe Phoolo, better known as Cassper Nyovest, and the late Kiernan Forbes, who was as AKA, had beef for many years.
They were both vocal about how they felt about each other but after AKA's death, Cassper publicly spoke about how his passing affected him.
Recently, AKA's mum Lynn Forbes shared that the beef between her son and Nyovest was real.
She spoke during an interview with SA Hip-hop Mag via The Episode Podcast.
She said she thought it was real when asked how deep the beef between AKA and Cassper was.
“I’ll tell you why, Kiernan would talk to me and if it wasn’t real, I would have picked it up."
She said she doesn’t know the ins and outs of it.
“Someone asked me a couple of days ago about how it started but I don’t know. You must remember I'm a mum and boys don’t tell their mums things. So, people will always ask me about that, and I say no boys specifically will only tell their mums things they think their mums need to know just to protect them,” she said.

Lynn said that she believed it was real because if it wasn’t she would’ve picked it up in their conversations.
“It was good for the hip-hop culture."
Previously, Cassper also spoke about his beef with AKA and even dedicated a song to him on his recent album, Solomon.
He said no one mattered. It was just him and AKA.
“When he passed on, I was like, I literally have no one to compete with. Nobody bothers me now. He used to bother me. The guy had hits when he dropped. I would go to the studio and try to cook something, call DJ Sumbody and say, let’s record something,” he joked.
Cassper said the saddest thing is that they never had a full-circle moment.
“This song is very important, and I hope people check it out,” he said.
