LEGENDARY gospel group Amadodana Ase Wesile has pledged their support for women and taken a stand against gender-based violence to celebrate women's month in style.
The multi-award-winning gospel male group celebrates 38 years in the music by showing gratitude and appreciation to women.
The group from Soweto has released 38 albums non-stop since 1985 and scooped many top awards, including seven SAMAs.
The group's founder, Thomas Mokhati, said women had played an important part in their family life and congregation.
"Amadodana Ase Wesile remains aware of the significant role that women play in the congregation, the family unit, and the community at large.

"We pray for a society that is free of gender-based violence, where women are respected and cared for, and where young boys and men are nurtured to be caring and loving people," he said.
Mokhati said the group also had several projects satisfying the objectives of the Young Men's Constitution centred on outreach programmes by visiting hospitals, and holding concerts with choirs from correctional facilities.
"The group adopted the African children feeding scheme, which has branches throughout Gauteng and offers bread and soup to school learners and the needy.
"The group has also assisted many churches in the country with building infrastructure for the congregation to be able to worship in dignity," he said.
The seasoned group said fame and money mean little compared to the personal satisfaction of knowing souls have been saved through the message on their songs.
