AWARD-WINNING gospel star Lebo Sekgobela loves to be showered with love and gifts on Mother’s Day.
As the day approaches on Sunday, 12 May, the Lion of Judah hitmaker told Daily Sun she's already received her first gift.
"Every year on Mother’s Day, I enjoy the perks of being a mum. I enjoy knowing that I was created to give warmth and love to my biological children and those outside my womb. They show me so much love on this day. I love the role of motherhood. It never ends, it’s something you do every day. One of my adopted children has already given me a Mother’s Day gift because I won’t be around," she said.
This year, however, Lebo will be performing in a different province on Mother's Day.
"While other mothers will be celebrating the day, I'll be travelling for some of my performances. I'm also currently working with Lebo Sekgobela in National Prayer & Worship and we're travelling to the Free State, North West and Limpopo.
"If we had money, we would have travelled to all the provinces. The next show is on 15 May in Potchefsroom.

"With the elections on 29 May, we've decided to hold a national prayer. I've invited my friends Omega Khunou and Puleng March to join me. We want to pray for the country because we want peace. We want our children to live in a peaceful country. As a mum, I want my children to be happy," she said.
Lebo said this was not in favour of any particular political party.
“It's in favour of all political parties. The Bible says we should pray for our leaders and that's what we're doing. We're asking God to intervene.
“We can't allow South Africa to go down because of decisions we can pray for. Pray and ask God for His guidance. We've done other programmes before, and it's been proven that the church is more than prayer. When we go there, we pray for people who are suffering from depression and anxiety. People are going through so much. Sometimes, they don’t need much, they just need a hug, and we give them that,” she said.
