A DATE for the funeral of Ukhozi FM presenter Irvin "DJ Amen" Sihlophe has been announced.

DJ Amen will be laid to rest at his home in Harding, KZN on Sunday, 19 November.

The funeral service will be held in his hometown at the Harding Stadium. It's expected to be attended by Ukhozi FM presenters and many others.

His memorial service will be held in Durban on Wednesday, 15 November, with the location still to be confirmed.

Irvin (44), who worked for Ukhozi FM for about 20 years and hosted various programmes such as the religious programme Unkulunkulu Nomuntu Omusha and sports shows, died at hospital on Thursday, 9 November.

This was after he had been hospitalised for about a week at the Addington Hospital in Durban, KZN after suffering a severe stroke at his home.

Sihlophe family spokesman Lucky Nkosi, who is also the presenter of Ukhozi FM and a close friend of Irvin, told Daily Sun that the family has decided that he will be buried on Sunday.

"Irvin was loved by many people and it is expected that many people will attend his funeral. That's why the family have decided that his funeral will be held at the stadium.

"His funeral service is being organised by Ukhozi FM and is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, but the venue is yet to be confirmed,” he said.
