KWAITO star Thokozani "L'vovo Derrango" Ndlovu will not attend Cotton Fest.
He told Daily Sun his doctor warned him not to attend the event as his life would be at risk.
“Most people will understand that I suffered a stroke last year, which left me paralysed. I lost my speech, and I couldn’t even walk. My left-hand side was mainly affected. Over the past few months, I’ve been recovering and have made progress. My speech is back, and I can now walk properly. However, my left arm is still affected and painful,” he said.
He said doctors are monitoring his progress.
“I’d have loved to attend Cotton Fest and Durban July, but my health comes first. I cannot go against doctors’ instruction,” L'vovo said.

The Bayang'sukela hitmaker shared a statement on his social media pages.
“The past few months have been one of the toughest periods in my life. I've literally had to watch my life flash before me. Through it all, I've received unwavering support from my fans, family and friends. I've been in constant engagement with my doctor these past few days about my condition. Regrettably, the doctor has advised me to take it easy since I've not fully recovered.
“I'm sorry to announce that after lengthy discussions we have taken a decision not to perform at the Cotton Fest this coming weekend. My sincere apologies for any convenience caused, and I hope to partake in the festival in the near future when I have fully recovered. To the Cotton Fest organisers, thank you so much for wanting me to be part of your event. I wish you all the best during this year's instalment of Cotton Fest event,” the statement read.
Previously, ama2000 told L'vovo Derrango not to come to Cotton Fest.
“I don’t know who they are, and I am not even bothered by them. They are not the reason for my non-attendance,” he said.
