INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed choir Joyous Celebration recorded their 27th DVD on Saturday night, 16 December.
For the first time, they invited legends Hlengiwe Mhlaba and Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors to perform alongside them.
The recording was held at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park and before the beginning of the proceedings, the choir handed Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors with an Ihubo Award.

They shared the handover of the award on social media and said the group was honoured for paving the way for gospel musicians.
“Ihubo Award from the hearts of MTN Joyous Celebration to @ncandwenichristambassadors. We honour and respect you for all you have done, paving the way for us,” they wrote.
“Thank you @ncandwenichristambassadors for carrying us over the years. We appreciate you,” they wrote in another post.
Fans on social media were excited about Joyous Celebration collaborating with Hlengiwe and Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors.
Facebook user Sphiwe Kunene Letebele said history has been made.
“This will go down in history as the most unforgettable, most significant and most needed collaboration. You couldn’t have done this at anytime other than this. We hope it was not the last time,” he wrote.
Another user Rosah Mokgadi wrote: “This collaboration is so amazing!”

The recording was also a surprise as fans thought the choir was just touring for the Joyous Celebration 26: The Joy, but it turned out to be a recording for their 27th DVD.
Before the beginning of the show, MTN, which is the sponsor for the choir wrote: “Surprise! MTN Joyous Celebration is recording #MTNJoyous27 tonight, so it’s a good thing fans are looking camera ready tonight! #MTNJoyousRestoration.”
