MZANSI kasi hustles have been played out in a movie.
The independent film, Die Hustle, was recently released and is making great strides nationwide.
The film sees two boys from the Eldorado Park, south of Joburg who are trying to change their lives for the better, as well as the lives of their families.
Dimpie, one of the characters, has a childhood love that is trying to get him closer to God, while on the other hand, another main character, Slim, has a mother who is slowly dying of cancer.

An old friend, (Raja) from Durban in KZN comes up with a solution to their financial problems.
This can possibly help Slim’s mother’s health but may also destroy Dimpie’s relationship with his childhood love.
Dimpie must decide between helping his best friend or his girlfriend.
Director Ricardo Ricwa Klaasen said the film talks about the life of one of the kasis in the country.
“Die Hustle is about Eldorado Park, a place where anything is possible and the hustle is real,” he said.
He said the Die Hustle’s premiere took place at the Crystal Auditorium on Saturday, 1 July and was a success with about 800 people in attendance.
“Upcoming premiere dates in other cities to note are Kimberley on Saturday, 29 July, Bloemfontein on Saturday, 26 August, Durban on Friday, 1 September, Saturday, and Cape Town on Saturday, 7 October,” he said.
“Exciting to note, the film crew will also be giving away bursaries in each province.”
