IDOLS winner Thapelo Molomo’s new single, Senoinoi, is currently making waves on TikTok.
The song was released in July 2023 and people have been taking part in the #SenoinoiChallenge, where they film themselves dancing to the song.
Thapelo (30), who is from Mokopane in Limpopo, won Idols SA in 2022 and he spoke to Daily Sun about his new song.
“Senoinoi is a Pedi word that means beauty. The song is about giving thanks and honour that’s due to God. It was inspired by everything I have witnessed, the beautiful things I experienced last year. It's just to tell God that I’m grateful by praising Him and telling Him how wonderful He’s been in my life.
“This will reflect well on others as well because there’s so much good that God has done in a lot of people’s lives. People are getting jobs, achieving things, and getting healed from diseases. So, it’s important to thank Him,” he said.
Thapelo said he never expected the song to be this big.

“In all honesty, I never saw this song going big, but I was hopeful. And my hopeful thoughts came to pass and I am grateful that it happened. It was well received. And the fact that this is my debut single is even greater. I also can’t wait to perform it on the Idols stage when I visit again during this new season,” he said.
Thapelo will record and release an album soon. He said he asked his record label, Kalawa Jazmee, to allow him to record a gospel album.
“I know a lot of Idols winners had to start with an album of secular music before singing their preferred genre. But I asked my label bosses to allow me and they understood why I wanted to do a gospel album. They said they wouldn’t be harsh with me because they see I love the genre,” said Thapelo.
He’ll also host his first-ever live show on 16 September at the Rabasotho Hall in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni.
“This is my first show after winning Idols. It’s a thanksgiving show to thank God and my fans for supporting me through the show. I’m excited because a lot of people, including the media, will be there. I’m organising it by myself and it’s going well so far,” he said.
