HAVING your WhatsApp hacked is a violation of privacy.
This happens when someone attempts to completely take over your WhatsApp account to commit fraud and scam people.
Mzansi celebs are also not spared, as they have also been victims of hacking in the past.
Musician Nomcebo Zikode has previously warned her followers about hackers demanding money from her WhatsApp contacts.
Another WhatsApp hacking victim is businesswoman and socialite Shauwn "MamMkhize" Mkhize, who also revealed that her WhatsApp number was hacked while she was on a trip to America in February 2022.
The hacker was pretending to be MamMkhize and asking her contacts for money.

Actress and comedian Celeste Ntuli was also not spared.
Celeste took to her Instagram and Twitter accounts to alert her followers and phone contacts that her cell number was hacked.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), hackers can access your WhatsApp data by various means.
To prevent this, the SAPS has urged the public to be aware of hacking techniques and to take caution on prevention tips.
According to cyber security specialist Emmanuel Matsi, the best thing to do for prevention is to have general cyber security awareness, especially when using devices that access the internet.
“Most attackers use tactics known as Social Engineering to get legitimate users to compromise the security of their devices or applications. This commonly works as attackers sending seemingly normal but malicious messages to their potential victims which are aimed to pursue them to follow an instruction,” said Matsi.
“Users should therefore ensure they look out for unexpected messages which require urgent action from them.”
