Gospel musician Fikile Mlomo is optimistic about her recovery.

GOSPEL star Fikile Mlomo sees the lights at the end of the tunnel after she spent three months not feeling her legs and feet.

The 42-year-old musician from Lindelani, north of Durban, who has been hospitalised for three months, finally had surgery on her spinal cord on Friday, 3 February.

On 1 May, Daily Sun published an article headlined: Gospel star Fikile seeks miracle to walk again!

She said before the surgery, her lower body was not at the same temperature as the upper body, and she felt like a dead person's body.

Fikile said although she couldn't still walk without assistance, she's grateful that now she can feel her legs and feet.

“It seems God is slowly answering my prayers, and I’m still surprised that I can feel my legs and make them move again, and if I scratch it, I can feel the pain. I couldn't do that before the surgery.

“I lost hope when doctors couldn't solve the problem, but God gave them the answer,” she said.

The Noma Kunje hitmaker said before the surgery, doctors told her chances of her walking again were 50/50.

“They said my recovery might take months or years, but I feel I'll be walking again and continue spreading the word again. Even if I’m not walking, I'll continue singing in my wheelchair."

She added that her illness came suddenly. She said she slept in a good condition and woke up not feeling her lower body and was unable to walk.
