QUEEN of gospel Rebecca Malope has withdrawn from the upcoming Night of Wonders Crossover Service event, which will take place on 31 December.

This follows claims that Pastor Hastings Salanje, who was to host the event, has allegedly disappeared.

According to social media, the pastor allegedly disappeared on Sunday, 26 November.

Rebecca was booked for the event at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand and the poster with her face advertising the event had already been released.

According to Rebecca, she pulled out of the event because there are disturbing allegations against the people who invited her.

She said that unfortunately she couldn't comment further on the matter as she didn't have enough information about the allegations.

"Family, thank you for bringing to my attention the disturbing allegations surrounding the individuals who invited us to perform at the crossover event in Midrand on 31 December. I was completely unaware of the situation," she said.

"I've therefore decided to withdraw from the event and will no longer be performing there. I have always stood for the kingdom of God and that will never change. So, I never want to associate myself with anything that goes against that," she said.

Rebecca said that she prays and hopes that justice will prevail where there has been any wrongdoing.

"I apologise to all my followers who were looking forward to entering the New Year with me," she said.

Daily Sun contacted pastor Hasting, but his phone was switched off.

His church, called God’s Chapel Global Ministries, released a statement on its Facebook page.

"This is to officially inform you that on Sunday 26th November 2023 at about 6pm when the church leadership was holding a meeting in our boardroom, some men posing as policemen/interpol entered the boardroom and then took away the man of God, Pastor Hastings Salanje.

"The matter has since been reported to the relevant authorities. As we await a response from the authorities, we urge all our members and followers to remain calm as the situation is under control," the statement said.
