GOMORA is still the most watched show on DStv with 780 773 viewers.
These numbers are released by Broadcast Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) monthly.
The second watched show is Sizokuthola with 657 496 viewers, followed by Gqeberha: The Empire with 623 387 viewers.
Gomora has been sitting on the number one spot for the past six months. It was leading with 863 074 viewers in April 2023, and was sitting at 885 304 viewers in March 2023.
This is despite the decision to end the show.
The show producer, Leanne Khumalo, said Gomora has always been a show that transcended the screen.
“Gomora went to number one in 2020, and we have remained there throughout our four seasons. Knowing that you have the ‘audience vote’ has always been our biggest reward as storytellers.
"Telling authentic stories that resonate is the ultimate goal, so knowing we were an audience favourite was a major motivator to the entire team. It’s been a privilege to have had such a wonderful response to the show,” she said.

“It has been a unique show which really underpinned the social realities we face in South Africa, but told in an entertaining and relatable way which captivated audiences. The cast has been incredible and each performer brought so much depth to their characters, and the show will be remembered for these characters that transcended the screens."
She said they are proud that the show will end on such a high.
"The final season really has been a joy to create and the dedication and passion of the team has been unwavering. We all leave the show having grown stronger and more prepared for the next creative challenge,” said Leanne.
She said that the highlight has been discovering new talent - on and off the screen.
Actress, Siyasanga Papu said she had a good time on Gomora.
“When we go on set we don’t think about the success, all we want is to translate the storyline. In the last four years we’ve managed to stay relevant. We told authentic stories and people could relate to the characters," said Siyasanga.
