ONE of the former organisers of the popular Ugu Jazz Festival is bouncing back.
Siya Msomi, who stopped organising the event in 2018, has returned with a hot event called Off Ramp Experience.
His new event, a youth experience combined with jazz and Afro-pop, will be held at the Ugu Sport and Leisure Centre in Port Shepstone, KZN South Coast on Saturday 24 June.
On stage will be Vusi Mahlasela, Mnqobi Yazo, Nkosazana Daughter, Andiswa Live, Intaba Yase Dubai, Mondli Ngcobo, Naima Kay, and Azania.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Siya said: "Because it is cold now, we will install a dome so people can sit down and enjoy the music in peace. With our line-up we want to accommodate everyone. We will also sell 3 000 tickets to avoid chaos and traffic. It'll be first come first serve. We want our festival to be a good experience where people can come and chill and leave whenever they want to leave without being stuck in traffic."

He said the event will be a three-day festival as it will start with pre-parties on Friday and end with a soccer tournament on Sunday.
"On Friday we will have six pre-parties in all local municipalities under Ugu District Municipality to promote that people can have fun in their areas which is the aim of the Off Ramp Experience.
"On Saturday is the main event where people will enjoy good music from different genres in a warm dome," he said.
Siya hosted the Ugu Jazz Festival at Ugu Sport with the Ugu District Municipality for eight years before the municipality handed it over to Eyadini Lounge boss Jabulani "Mjay" Zama to host it.
Tickets are available at Ticketpro and Spar for R150 general, and R600 VIP.
