VETERAN journalist Sello Rabothata is no more.
The former journalist, who also worked as a sports editor, died on Tuesday, 14 November at his home in Dalpark, Boksburg, after a long illness. He was 68 years old.
His son Lebeko Rabothata (38) said his father died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Sello had been hospitalised three weeks earlier due to some health complications.
"My dad was a fighter and he told us to be strong and accept that he will no longer be with us," Lebeko said.
Sello worked for various publications, including Sowetan and New Age. He retired in 2015 after spending 40 years in the journalism industry.

Sello was also an author of two books.
Lebeko, who is a sports agent, said he was inspired by his dad to love sport and make a career out of it.
"My dad loved sports, it was in his genes, so it's no wonder I'm interested in sports," he said.
Lebeko said his mum, Mmasello Rabothata (63), is devastated by the sudden death of her husband.
The couple had been married for 41 years.
At the time of his death, Sello was one of the co-founders of the Wattville Men's Forum.
The forum was set up with the aim of encouraging men to speak out about issues that affect them and to combat gender-based violence (GBV).
One of its members, Desmond Ndlovu, and a former SunMan said Sello's sudden death has left a void in the organisation.
"He has worked hard to change men and we will continue to follow his vision," Ndlovu said.
