THERE’S huge excitement about Gcwalisa Spring Picnic (All White) to be held on 5 November at King’s Park Stadium in Durban.
The picnic is organised by maskandi star Khuzani Mpungose.
Spokesman Mthokozisi Zuma said that tickets are selling like hot cakes.
“We know that maskandi fans love this genre and are highly supportive. But we didn’t expect this kind of support. It’s amazing and shocking. Tickets are selling fast,” said Mthokozisi.
He said that the early bird tickets that were selling at R150 are sold out.

He added that the VIP area is almost full as only three R15 000 package tickets are left.
This picnic will determine whether Khuzani should organise another Fill Up Moses Mabhida Stadium event, which he did in 2019, making history by becoming the first maskandi artist to do so.
Mthokozisi said on the line-up, there won’t be only maskandi artists but musicians from other genres as well.
“We have artists from other genres such amapiano, hip-hop, gqom and Afro-pop. On this day, artists will show what Mzansi music is all about,” said Mthokozisi.
During maskandi shows, fans wear their signature uniforms to showcase who their favourite artist is.
Mthokozisi said they are expecting to see fashion on 5 November.

“We all know that Khuzani’s fans wear blue outfits and hold vuvuzelas as part of their uniform. Maskandi is on other level. Fans wear designer uniforms on these shows. It’s no longer about music alone. What is more interesting is that the fans are neat freaks. They even compete about who is more neat than the other. So on 5 November, we are expecting the unexpected,” said Mthokozisi.
